The project ‘Vanishing Points: Another Science of Time’ is a research initiative funded by the OSIC 2025 Grant, which has a twofold objective: on the one hand, the construction of the ‘Hegemonic History of Time’ and, on the other, the critical identification of the vanishing points of this History. We call them ‘vanishing points’ to refer to everything that could help us think the official History of the science of time in a different way. For this reason, we have displayed four strategies: to subjectivize it in the face of its purported objectivity, redraw its evolution to figure it beyond linearity and causality, open new paths excluded by the frantic race towards precision and, finally, politicize it through the lens of gender and decoloniality.
The ‘chronogram’ presented here is one of the ways of visually presenting this research into points of fugue, concentrating on its politicisation through gender and decoloniality. This chronogram is titled ‘History(s) of Time’ and aims to offer an accessible and rigorous insight into the hegemonic conception and measurement of time, as well as to “vanish” this vision with a dual potential axis: ‘non-European scientists’ and ‘women scientists’.

El projecte “Punts de fuga: una altra ciència del temps” és una recerca, finançada per la Beca OSIC 2025, que té un doble objectiu: d’una banda, la construcció de la “Història hegemònica del temps” i, de l’altra, la identificació crítica dels punts de fuga d’aquesta Història. Diem “punts de fuga” per anomenar tot allò que podria ajudar-nos a pensar d’una altra manera la Història oficial de la ciència del temps. Per això, hem volgut desplegar quatre estratègies: subjectivar aquesta Història davant la seva pretesa objectivitat, redibuixar la seva evolució per figurar-la més enllà de la linealitat i la causalitat, obrir noves vies excloses per la frenètica carrera vers la precisió i, finalment, polititzar-la mitjançant la perspectiva de gènere i la decolonialitat.
El cronograma que presentem a continuació és una de les vies de presentació visual d’aquesta recerca de punts de fuga, concentrada en la seva politització mitjançant el gènere i la decolonialitat. Aquest cronograma es titula “Historia (històries) del temps” i pretén oferir una visió accessible i rigorosa de la concepció i mesura hegemòniques del temps i, alhora, “fugir” d’aquesta visió amb un doble eix potencial: “científics no-europeus” i “dones científiques”.
